Universal Aroid Mix Substrate for Philodendron, Monstera, Syngonium and more

Aroids (Araceae) are plants native to tropical rainforests that grow as climbing plants or epiphytes on trees. The typical aerial roots are used for attachment, but also for absorbing water and nutrients and are usually start growing near the ground between leaves, moss and coarser materials. In order to imitate the natural conditions as realistically as possible, a very loose and air-permeable substrate is used for Aroids in which the roots can develop freely.

The substrate is a universal substrate and works for all genera.

It can also be adjusted as desired, e.g. by adding more pine bark or other components to make it more looser.

Our substrate ingredients are:

• Coconut chips
• Pine bark 3-8mm
• Pine bark 7-14mm
• perlite
• peat growing medium

Fertilized for about 8 months.
